
Respecting our environment
Our packaging
All of our food packaging is biodegradable and compostable, we do not use any single use plastic or polystyrene products. We provide sustainably sourced wooden cutlery and paper bags for our take away. Food served in our restaurant is served on plates with stainless cutlery. We endeavor to buy stock that has minimal or no packaging that cannot be recycled.
Our Waste
We separate our food waste and have dedicated bins for recycling and general waste. Our waste oil is collected by a licensed carrier and is recycled to produce biodiesel and other products
Our equipment
Our frying range was replaced in 2024. We now have a high efficiency range with up to date safety features with the latest burners and controllers. This range burns around 40% less gas than a traditional range and emissions are kept to a minimum due to modern baffles and extraction.
Preparation/wash machines
Our chipper and peeler are both from a market leading brand, we are able to peel and chip a 25kg bag of potatoes in around 2 minutes, reducing our energy consumption and water usage. Our commercial dishwasher is designed to use minimal water and can run a complete cycle in 2 minutes, again reducing energy usage. We also have a grease trap installed which prevents any food residue from entering the main drainage system.
Our refrigeration
All of our refrigeration uses R290 gas with low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and clean free condensers.
